VoltVision Shortlisted for the UK-Malaysia Digital Innovation Programme

We are thrilled to announce that VoltVision has been shortlisted for the UK-Malaysia Digital Innovation Programme (DIP), organised by the UK’s Department for Business and Trade*.

The UK-Malaysia Digital Innovation Programme aims to connect cutting edge UK tech businesses with leading Malaysian corporates to take advantage of the fast-growing market opportunities in the region. This inaugural programme is supported by the Digital Trade Network, MyDigital Corporation (Economic Planning Unit of Malaysia Prime Minister’s Department), Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) and one of Malaysia’s largest conglomerates, Sunway Group.

With a focus on innovation and sustainability Sunway has transformed an old mining pool into a city.  The Sunway City is Malaysia’s most dynamic living laboratory, allowing test bedding and sandboxing of solutions across their business units, offering researchers, students and entrepreneurs in the region and internationally to scale their business in Southeast Asia. It now focuses on 6 key focus verticals – edutech, digital health, smart cities, retail tech, agrifood tech and fintech.

Today, the Sunway Group has 3 listed companies, over 13 business units from property development, construction, shopping malls, education, digital, healthcare, hotel, theme parks, building materials, trading and manufacturing, and more, with over 16,000 staff spread across 50 locations around the world, mostly in Southeast Asia. This allows entrepreneurs and startups they work with to leverage on these skills and networks.

Sunway iLabs’ Ventures Unit is a venture builder, VC and accelerator of startups. Over the years, it has made a number of investments into startups and scale-ups across the 6 focus verticals via its various initiatives and programmes.

“We are very excited to be given this opportunity and our team look forward to travelling to Kuala Lumpur in March to learn more about Malaysia’s fast growing technology sector. We are also looking forward to demonstrating VoltVision’s capabilities in digitising high and medium voltage networks, delivering significant power, CO2 and cost reductions.”

Manoli Yannaghas, Managing Director, VoltVision
